NWA Plays Hardball With Employees & Customers

In "Now, Companies Can Track Down Their Cyber-Critics"

A few choice quotes from the referenced article.

""TOO CLOSE."   Still not convinced this is for real? eWatch's Skinner says Northwest Airlines used his service earlier this year to help it track down the identities of employees who organized a "sick-out" that nearly halted flights over the last Christmas holiday. The company has since fired those employees, and a court has upheld the legality of that action. The ruling is under appeal. Northwest is now using eWatch to help it target -- for reeducation -- the most teed-off of its fed-up fliers."

It appears that NWA has become so accustomed to misusing and abusing their employees that they now think they can do the same with disgruntled customers. Rather than deliver good service which encourages repeat business and happy customers they are now resorting to strong arm tactics. I.E., "reeducation", or should I say brainwashing. Now this approach has worked well for less than reputable company's in the UK. One example being the largest invention promoter (ISC) who has used libel law in the UK to get gag orders stopping disgruntled former clients from spreading the word. But such tactics have failed miserably in the US . For an example of such see www.Skippy-SCAM.org .

"The potential for abuse seems too high, and the idea sounds ominous to those who cherish free speech without risk of punishment."

"If they land in overaggressive hands, snoop tools and services like eWatch sound like a PR crisis just waiting to happen."

I agree. But for some companies, those whose reputations are in the toilet, perhaps they think they have nothing to lose.

NWA
Customers

NWA's arrogance and incredible stupidity never cease to amaze me. They would not need eWatch if they delivered decent service and value with a good attitude. And once the alienate both employees and customers alike they apparently did not even consider that the stick approach will only make things worse.

For example. I created this web site after they trashed brand new luggage on flight 1, canceled my commuter flight and substituted ground transportation (at air rates) and lost my luggage on flight 2, and destroyed my notebook computer, refusing to pay for it on flight 3. All of which was done while delivering the service with memorable attitude.

Now comes the really interesting part. I use reverse domain tracking to keep tabs on who is visiting and how many pages they check out. Well, eWatch has in excess of 10,000 hits in the last quarter of 2000 on www.rjriley.com.

Since I am well connected to First Amendment organizations I am looking forward to adjusting attitudes at both NWA and their latest team of thugs. I invite them to take their best shot!
