You are absolutely correct. They have screwed up every flight I have ever been on. And they don't care that they do it. I fly Delta as much as I can to stay off Northwest. The problem is - everyone else does too.
People here in Memphis are fed up with Northwest, but in the usual case of political ego fawning, the political establishment here is just falling all over themselves about "how good Northwest is" to extent that the city mayor (Willie Herenton) and the county mayor (Jim Rout) starred in a Northwest television commercial saying, "We usually don't agree with each other on too much, but we both agree Northwest Airlines is good for Memphis."
Northwest has 80% of the available seats here so Memphis has some of the highest airline fares in the country. That hurts enough, but add their terrible service and rude treatment and it really stinks. Most of the people here wanted Northwest and Northwest's pilots to get out of Memphis and never come back. And to take Willie and Jim with them.
