My first trip on NW was LA to London in 1993 where we recieved service closely resembling AEROFLOT during Soviet days. I now travel that route either on VIRGIN (fantastic service) or AIR NEW ZEALAND most leg room in economy class including leg rests.
I foolishly gave Northworst another try flying from LA to Oahi in 1997. They kept us on the Runway at LAX for nearly 2 hours in 100 degree weather and didnt even offer us a complimentary drink or movie.
This CHURLISH behaviour extended thru the flight with no special meals for my family (despite checking 3 days earlier) with the response being "do you want some carrot sticks". These people went to the Basil Fawlty school of Hospitality.
Of course it took 40 minutes to an hour to get our bags in Oahu and consequently missed the last flight to Maui that night. I have since written 2 letters to Northworst and recieved of course ..NO RESPONSE.
Maybe we could all but T shirts that say "I'd rather eat worms than Fly Northwest"..but that might give their Catering staff some ideas.. Thanks for the vent
