Hi,
Unlike most of your respondants, I live the other side of 'the pond' in the U.K.
But don't think that we don't hate NWA here - we do!
Visit KLM - UK (A KLM / NWA subsidiary airline) website at klmuk.com or klmuk.co.uk and check out their 'forum'. Full of KLM and NWA online complaints!
I used to be a member of the NWA Worldperks programme, until, in common with everyone else in Europe, we were unceremoniously kicked out into KLM's programme. Goodbye free upgrades. Goodbye NW Miles. Goodbye to the TINY little bit of 'extra' service we used to get!
My partner lives in MSP, and I live in Leeds, England. I fly either HUY - AMS - MSP, LBA - AMS - MSP or LGW - DTW / MSP. The route involves a mix of KLM, KLMUk and NWA. You can see my recent vents of anger at the so called 'alliance and partnership' on the KLM forum. In Europe, we can't even get hold of NWA reservations without calling KLM! And seeing as KLM and NWA have DIFFERENT reservation systems, all manner of seating, meal and assistance request simply 'dissapear', whilst reservations and reservation changes mysteriously are no longer there when an NWA flight happens to be full!!!!
As for service on board - NWA are not bad. But service on the ground (which in the event of service disruption is even more crucial) just is not there.
I am fighting NWA and KLM here in the U.K.
SOLIDARITY!!!!!!!
Kind Regards,
Sam Spencer
