Most of the problems in Detroit are because NWA is trying to operate a hub at an airport terminal designed in the sixties, when hubs were unheard of. Every ticket you buy has a federal tax of several dollars for airport and airway improvement. Millions of dollars have been collected but used for other purposes. If our elected governement officials had used this vast amount of money for what it was intended , Detroit would today have a state of the art terminal, and our air traffic control computers wouldn't be vacume tube driven and built over 30 years ago. Passengers should get their money back for these taxes, or new terminals and facilities should be built.
