When First Class is not really First Class

Posted by Rich Flint on March 09, 1999 at 12:48:17:

Recently, I had to Fly my family of four to North Dakota because of the death of my father. Guess what? The entire state is held captive by Northworst Airlines. No other choices!
Since I had to put my family through such an ordeal at the the funeral, I visited NWA's web page and purchased 4 (full price) round-trip first class tickets so that we wouldnt have to suffer in coach. Guess what? On the return trip, there was an equipment change which eliminated 4 first class seats due to the use of a smaller aircraft. They very rudely booted us back to coach where we couldnt even sit together... and refused to offer any kind of refund or rebate! When I asked why they picked on us for the downgrade, the agent stated that First Class tickets purchased on the Web page are "Not really First Class", are not as good as First Class tickets purchased normally.... and that I should have read the "fine print"...which says that First Class tickets purchased on the Web are offered only on a "Space available" basis. NWA web pages users...BEWARE!!!!!
